2027: Tinubu yet to deliver on promises – Mulade tells praise singers, politicians

Prominent Niger Delta environmental and human rights advocate, Chief Sheriff Mulade, has issued a strong appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging him to shift focus from political praise and prioritize the implementation of his 2023 campaign promises.

In a statement delivered over the weekend, Chief Mulade cautioned against the growing influence of political praise singers and opportunistic job seekers, whom he believes are distracting the president from delivering meaningful governance.

Campaign Promises Still Unfulfilled, Says Mulade

Pressure Mounts as Nigerians Await Tangible Results

While President Tinubu has received widespread commendation for his economic policies and reform agenda, Chief Mulade insists that much of the progress remains superficial. According to the activist, the promises that resonated deeply with Nigerians during the 2023 general elections—particularly those affecting marginalized regions like the Niger Delta—have yet to materialize.

The Niger Delta continues to face severe environmental degradation, widespread poverty, and social inequality, all of which were focal points in Tinubu's campaign messaging. Mulade emphasized that these lingering issues require urgent and sustained intervention, not mere political rhetoric or ceremonial acknowledgments.

A Call to Action: Prioritize the People Over Politics

Avoiding Distractions to Deliver on National Development

Chief Mulade’s message is clear: President Tinubu must resist the allure of political flattery and remain grounded in the responsibilities entrusted to him by the electorate. He called on the president to surround himself with individuals who are committed to national development rather than personal gain.

The activist stressed that Nigeria cannot afford leadership that is sidetracked by “praise merchants and political job hunters.” Instead, Tinubu must honor the trust placed in him by actively working toward the promises that earned him the presidency.

Governance Demands Focus, Not Flattery

As Nigeria continues to grapple with significant socio-economic challenges, voices like Chief Sheriff Mulade's serve as a critical reminder that the country's progress depends on accountable and focused leadership. The president’s legacy, he noted, will be defined not by accolades, but by concrete achievements that improve the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
