Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has clarified that he is currently in the process of recuperating in Germany and has not yet made his return to Nigeria, contrary to circulating rumors on social media.
However, Akeredolu assured the public that he will be returning to the country soon to resume his responsibilities of governing the state.
In a statement released on Sunday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Richard Olatunde, it was reiterated that Akeredolu's top priority is ensuring a full recovery before coming back to Nigeria.
While acknowledging the excitement of the state's residents, as well as the governor's supporters and well-wishers, Olatunde reassured that Akeredolu has intentions of returning to the state in due time.
"The video in question, currently circulating, was taken during the Governor's campaign tour in preparation for the previous Presidential and National Assembly elections. Governor Akeredolu eagerly anticipates reuniting with the people of the Sunshine State. He is deeply moved by the overwhelming love and support and is enthusiastic about resuming his efforts to forge a brighter future for Ondo State," the statement affirmed.
